[1] GD50/184/84/5 paper has the following: Gregor a descendant of Coll the son of Rob Roy who lived about the braes of Balquhidder had a son Donald.
As Margaret, wife of Coll, came from Coiletir at the head of Glen Falloch in Killin parish, in the absence of birth immediately subsequent to the mariage, recorded in Balquhidder, it is reasonable to assume that either Coll and Margaret were living as a couple at Coiletir, or that Margaret may have gone to her mother's home to have her first child. Unfortunately there is a gap in the Killin parish record of births from November 1717 until October 1727. Later baptisms for Coll and Margaret are recorded in Balquhidder in 1725 and 1732.

[2] Statutory Death - MCGREGOR, DUNCAN; age: 66; Mother's MS: MCLAREN; 1881; 331/ 5 Balquhidder
Linda Nisbet says "After the death of Hugh in 1863, his son Duncan succeeded to the situation of ground officer on the estate. He occupied a croft on Achtoo Farm. I think this was the reason Duncan was chosen to represent the McGregor clan in the book 'The Highlanders of Scotland'. If you look at this book online you will see that sitter no. 19 is Duncan McGregor. As you can see, he is wearing the Rob Roy tartan and a bonnet with an unusual design. It mentions in the bio that his grandfather, Donald MacGregor, lived on Achtoo farm and married Ellen MacGregor from Rannoch. "

The gravestone at Balquhidder, head-to-head with Rob Roy’s grave, is of Duncan MacGregor and members of his family.
In Memory of Duncan MacGregor, Achtow, died 23rd April 1881, aged 66 years. Also his wife Mary Laidlow died at Achtow 7th August 1906/7 aged 80 years.
His family, John died 7th February 1867 aged 1 year and 8 months;
Elizabeth died 18th April 1883 aged 22 years;
Hugh died 6th/9th June 1913 aged 54;
Thomas MacGregor MB CM for 31 years, Medical Practioner at Aberfoyle, died 9th February 1920 aged 56, and his wife Elizabeth Stewart Blair died 16th June 1943 aged 77;
Jessie died 29th October 1946 aged 79.

[3] Statutory Death - MCGREGOR, HUGH; age: 84; Mother's MS: MCGREGOR; 1863; 331/ 1 Balquhidder
According to Linda Nisbet - Hugh MacGregor was ground officer (or bailiff) on the Edinchip property, to Sir John MacGregor Murray of Lanrick, and to three succeeding generations. Hugh died on 31st January 1863.

[4] Statutory Birth - MCGREGOR, HUGH; M; 1859; 331/ 9 Balquhidder
OPR Death - MCGREGOR, HUGH; age: 54; 1913; 331/ 4 Balquhidder

[5] Statutory Birth - MCGREGOR, THOMAS; M; 1863; 331/ 9 Balquhidder
OPR Death - MCGREGOR, THOMAS; age: 75; 1942; 331/ 8 Balquhidder

[6] Statutory Marriage - MCGREGOR, DUNCAN; LAIDLAW, MARY; 1858; 331/ 1 Balquhidder
OPR Death - MCGREGOR, THOMAS; age: 75; 1942; 331/ 8 Balquhidder

[7] Coll died before 18 December 1735 when his Testament was confirmed. His executors were Margaret Campbell, his widow, and Robert Murray of Glencarnock, as principal parties and on behalf of Coll's creditors Alexander Stewart, writer in Stirling, and James Alexander, saddler there. There is a second confirmation in November 1736 and all four are referred to in their capacity as executors qua creditors. Neither document refers to a relationship between Margaret and Robert of Glencarock, nor between Robert and Coll, and, instead, he is simply acting in the capacity of a creditor. However, I think this may be circumstantial evidence that Robert was actually Coll's brother in law and taking on the role of executor assisting his sister Margaret. [8] MacPharrie might have been the same Duncan Drummond or MacGregor in Strathyre who had been involved with Rob Roy's sons in the kidnapping in December 1750 of Jean Key as a wife for Robin Oig, for which Robin was hanged in 1754. James Mor excaped from prison into exile in France, where he died, while Duncan was acquitted. His involvement could be the reason for Walter Scott mistakenly claiming that Rob Roy had a son named Duncan. He was probably the same Duncan who was married to Kate, a daughter of Coll and granddaughter of Rob Roy some time after the '45.

[9] Probable family of Duncan McGregor (Drummond) and Kate (Kathrin) McGregor in Balquhidder
There is a gap in the parish record 1741-54 so their marriage is not recorded.

Patrick 14/9/1750 GROS 331/10/109
Margaret 1/12/1753 GROS 331/10/120
Coll 1/3/1756 GROS 331/10/129

[10] All of the descendants of Donald taken from the Ward Tree
I can't find an OPR record of the birth of Gregor, so have assumed a firstborn, 1722 after 1721 marriage, so that he could have Donald in 1740-46 and marry in 1764
That makes the ages correct, but it is suspicious. There were gaps in the OPR around these times.There is a baptism of Unknown to Coll in 1735, but if that was Gregor, it is far too late for the birth of son Donald in the period 1740-46 as recorded by John Ward Donald.
The only recorded possibility, which I have taken, is a baptism in Killin parish: Donald baptised by Grigor McGrigor and Kat. McIver 1/11/1742 361/10/164 Killin
Killin parish includes Coiletir in Glen Falloch where there had been MacGregor settlement, of the Glengyle line, for many years. Margaret, the wife of Coll was of the Coileitir family so it is possible that her son Gregor's wife had her child there.

There is an article and photograph of him in the Glasgow Herald. 'Peter McGregor and John McDonald, boatmen on Loch Katrine, Trossachs, for 52 years. They rowed Her Majesty, the late Queen Victoria from the ‘Rob Roy’ steamer to the Royal Cottage to turn the water on to Glasgow in the year 1859.'"
