David? Is this actually Duncan Murray? This is the only David in the Parish record so it is probably a misinterpretation by the transcriber for Duncan.

| | James's family used the alias Buchanan, but for the wedding, and for a few baptisms, James used his wife's alias, McAlpine.
| | James had an illegitimate daughter Anna with Isobel McGregor alias Drummond of Gartnafuaran in 1755.
| | He had another daughter with her in 1769, (Margaret). This appears to have prompted Katharine to move to Criganmore to have her son Malcolm in 1769, who was sponsored by his uncle, Robert McGregor alias Buchanan of Stronyre.

The prominent female name of her grandchildren is Mary, not Margaret. Presumably her real name was something like Mairead.
