Katharine was the daughter of Coll, Rob Roy's son, and Margaret of Glencarnaig. This Janet's uncle, Alexander McGregor alias Stirling, lived at Inverlochlarigmore. Or possibly it was Janet b. 1746 Rhinnacraig, Balquhidder, the daughter of Alexander McGregor alias Buchanan and Janet Fergussone. Or possibly another cousin, b. 1747 Wester Drumlich, Balquhidder, the daughter of John Ban McGregor alias Murray and Mary McIntyre, whose mother lived latterly with her son and daughters at Ardmachmuin, and wrote to Amelia in 1814.
