With thanks to Elizabeth McDonald for the research into Kate's descendants in Montgomery County, NY State, USA, [4] Anne born in Kirktown in 1886 marries a Duncan McGregor whom we think is the one baptised Rhu Dumbarton 20.3.1776. He dies in Florida on 1.2.1837. Anne dies in 1818 and her husband marries again to an Elizabeth. The children of Anne include Anne (no data yet), Daniel (no data yet). Both are mentioned in Duncan's will of 1837. Marriage to Duncan is not found yet, probably 1808. Son Alexander appears to be the first child. His data are bap.15.9.1809 at the Dutch Reform Church in Fonda and died 30.3.1896 in Amsterdam, Montgomery County, New York State, United States. Anne's son John was born in Florida in 1811 and died 15.11.1877 in Fultonville, Montgomery County, New York State. Anne's son Robert was baptised 6.1.1814 (which suggest I should put his uncle Robert the soldier's death at 1812 or 1813 instead of 1814) and died 25.12.1897 in San Mateo, San Mateo County, California. That's it for Anne's children. [5] From Sheila McGregor there is this, (presumably from the oral histories in the John MacGregor Papers); Duncan commonly called Old Cuilt, or Doncha McParuaig, married the daughter of Coll. By her he had a son John, Lt in the Clan Alpine Fencibles. [6] Amelia's History II - p372 This account is signed by Duncan McGregor, and dated Cuilt 12th Feb 1788, nearly forty-three years after the campaign. In other papers the writer is styled "Duncan McPharie," showing that his father's name was Patrick, and he is mentioned as a person of undoubted respectability. A marginal note in family copy of the "Baronage" in Sir Evan Murray MacGregor's handwriting calls the writer "the Standard Bearer of the Clan."

MacPharrie might have been the same Duncan Drummond or MacGregor in Strathyre who had been involved with Rob Roy's sons in the kidnapping in December 1750 of Jean Key as a wife for Robin Oig, for which Robin was hanged in 1754. James Mor excaped from prison into exile in France, where he died, while Duncan was acquitted. His involvement could be the reason for Walter Scott mistakenly claiming that Rob Roy had a son named Duncan. He was probably the same Duncan who was married to Kate, a daughter of Coll and granddaughter of Rob Roy some time after the '45.
