John Ward has - "John, b 12 Jan 1795., Lieutenant in the West Kent Militia, Sold Glengyle in 1855 to the proprietor of the Queen's Hotel, Glasgow, James McGregor, who is said to have descended from an illegitimate child of Rob Roy's son Robin Oig. m (Callander 10Aug1816) Jane youngest daughter of Capt. Daniel McG of Inverardoran." [11] John Ward has - "James b 1 Aug 1818, d Auchterarder Combination Poorhouse 26 Jan 1897 (79)., Bur Glengyle. (The last of Glengyle).
